What it does

Live on the run. Deep after it.

Everything is computed by an on-device analytics engine, so the detail you get back never depends on a connection — or on anyone else holding your data.

Live running

  • GPS route, distance, duration, pace, calories, and splits
  • Live Apple Watch heart rate and heart-rate zone
  • A Monday-to-Sunday week strip with zone-colored bars and planned days
  • Pause and resume from a Lock Screen Live Activity
  • Miles or kilometers — your choice

Deep local analytics

  • Smoothed heart-rate and elevation traces
  • HR drift, recovery, aerobic decoupling, and TRIMP-style load
  • Zone-time breakdowns and sustained target-zone blocks
  • Pacing consistency, negative splits, and grade-adjusted pace
  • Cadence, running power, durability, and signal confidence
  • Weekly load, fitness, freshness, readiness, awards, and race estimates

Private coaching

On supported devices, Apple’s on-device language model turns your latest training snapshot into a short, plain-English explanation of what to do next. Everywhere else, a deterministic local coach does the same job.

Your workout and recovery inputs are never sent to an external AI service.

Built around your data

Your runs stay yours.

There is no RunSignal account and no server holding your health profile. Routes, heart rate, recovery signals, and every derived metric are stored and processed on your device.

Questions

Good to know

Do I need an Apple Watch?

No. iPhone records route, distance, pace, and splits on its own. A paired Apple Watch adds live heart rate, zones, and heart-rate-based analytics like drift, recovery, and TRIMP load.

Which devices get the on-device coach?

The Apple Foundation Models coach runs on iOS 26 with Apple Intelligence for the on-device coach; a local fallback is used everywhere else. The fallback produces the same style of guidance from the same numbers, so the feature never depends on a remote service.

Is readiness medical advice?

No. Readiness and training metrics are fitness information derived from your own data. They are not medical advice, diagnosis, or a guarantee of performance — consult a professional for health concerns.

What happens to my data if I switch phones?

Create an encrypted backup in Settings, move the file yourself, and restore it on the new phone. Nothing is synced through a RunSignal server because there isn’t one.

Your next run, decoded.
